SALISBURY, N.C. - Livingstone College celebrated its senior night in style with a 69-61 upset of Fayetteville State on Monday.

Despite making only five second-half field goals, the Broncos (15-8, 11-6 CIAA, 6-2 Western Division) stayed in the game thanks to stellar free-throw shooting.FSU made 19 of 28 free throws in the second half.

LaQuasha Jordan had a career-high 22 points while Tiffany Haywood contributed a double-double with 14 points and 17 rebounds.

FSU led 32-31 at intermission.

Head coach Eva Patterson-Heath's team attempted 29 shots in the second half and shot 17.2 percent from the field.

The Broncos shot 70.3 percent from the free-throw line on the game. Haywood made 10-of-15 while Jordan hit 10-of-14.

Livingstone (10-15, 6-12, 4-4) had 26 points in the paint and 15 from beyond the arc. The Lady Blue Bears shot 39.3 percent from the field for the game and 53.8 percent in the second half.

LC made 16-of-24 free throws and had 13 assists. Senior Kayler McBride scored 20 points and Brittany Wright added 16.

L'oreal Price was the only other Broncos player to score in double digits. The Raleigh, N.C. native finished with 10 points. FSU shot 34 percent from the field (11-of-32) in the first half and made 3-of-10 in 3-pointers.

FSU will continue on the road this week with two trips to Raleigh. On Wednesday, the Broncos will play their makeup game against Shaw University and faceoff against St. Augustine's on Thursday. Both games are scheduled for 5:30 pm.
