FAYETTEVILLE STATE DROPS 59-57 HEARTBREAKER TO LIVINGSTONE

Fayetteville, NC - Turnovers plague the Broncos once again in a heartbreaking 59-57 loss to 12-13 Livingstone College. Fayetteville State, 12-12 overall, committed 24 turnovers in the game which led to 26 points for the Blue Bears. FSU led by as much as 13 in the first half before allowing LC back in the game and leading at the half 30-26. The Broncos led by five with 5:12 remaining but missed out on opportunities to secure a win. FSU went ahead by one (57-56) with four seconds remaining until Sean Booker drove the length of the court the basket and the foul. Andy Gebru (Orlando, FL) led the team with 17 points while making three of six behind the arc.

Once again, Fayetteville State led a game in all categories except points. The biggest category of the game was turnovers. FSU had 14 turnovers to the Blue Bears six in the first half and ten to seven in the second. The Broncos shot 48.7% from the floor (to LC's 41.5%), 37.5% from behind the three-point arc (to LC's 13.3%) and 68.4% from the free throw line (to LC's 68.4%). Fayetteville State out-rebounded the Blue Bears 31-25. Jason Thompson (Sanford, NC) was the only other Bronco to score in double-figures with a dozen points.

Sean Booker, who hit the game winning shot, led the game with 18 points while Tayloe Taylor hit 16 points. Livingstone shot 22-of-53 from the field, 2-of-15 from the line, and 13-of-19 from the line.

FSU will honor its seniors on Tuesday, February 17th in between the women's and men's game against Johnson C. Smith. The women will tip-off at 5:30 pm.
