BRONCOS UPSET COKER ON HOMECOMING

Hartsville, S.C. - The Fayetteville State Volleyball team took a break from CIAA action and traveled to Hartsville, S.C. to face Coker on Friday.

Chekimbrell Jefferson continued her torrid pace, amassing 16 kills, and led the Broncos (11-7, 9-1 CIAA) to a 3-1 (19-15, 25-19, 25-23, 25-14) win over the Cobras. It was FSU's fifth straight win.

Coker falls to 1-17 on the season, while FSU improves to 10-7 overall.

Junior Samantha Meeks had 11 kills, while freshman Ifeyinwa Nwokolo added 10 kills. Achari Mainor tallied 41 assists and Cailee Huffman amassed 15 digs.

The Broncos, winners of seven straight CIAA matches, head to Raleigh to face St. Augustine's at 6 p.m. on Tuesday.
