Final Stats

Murfreesboro, NC - Fayetteville State University used 38 team kills to down Chowan University in three straight sets in volleyball action from the Helms Center on Thursday evening. The Hawks tallied 28 kills as a team, but were unable to put points together to defeat the visiting Lady Broncos.

Fayetteville State won with set scores of 25-22, 25-17, and 25-23. The Lady Broncos, now 4-6 overall, were paced by junior middle block Chekimbrell Jefferson who tallied a match-high 14 kills along with junior rightside hitter Cailee Huffman who finished with 10 kills. Jefferson also had three solo blocks and 30 total attacks.

For Chowan Antoinette McCollough had a team-high eight kills and Melissa Hallam had 14 assists. Nicole Shoup tallied 13 digs to lead the team in that category.

The Lady Broncos will be back in action this weekend as Fayetteville State will be the host site of the CIAA Volleyball Round-up.
