Indianapolis, IN - The NCAA Division II Women's Basketball Committee has released this week's Division II women's basketball regional rankings. The top 10 teams in each region are listed for each of the eight regions. The Lady Broncos of Fayetteville State University are ranked amongst the top ten in their region.
FSU is currently ranked 10th in the South Atlantic Region. In the Division II standings, the Lady Broncos are 13-6 overall and 13-4 against In-Region opponents. Fellow conference adversary Johnson C. Smith is the only other CIAA ranked women's team in the eighth spot.
The Lady Broncos are 14-8 overall this season and 10-3 in the CIAA. Fayetteville State is first in the conference in team scoring and offensive rebounds. FSU is averaging 77.3 points per game and 20.2 offensive rebounds per game.
Senior guard Leticia Dickson is fourth in the CIAA in individual scoring, averaging 15.1 points per game. Head Coach Eric Tucker continues to climb up in the rankings among the NCAA Division II national leaders for active coaches with the best winning percentage. Coach Tucker is ranked 39th cracking the top 50 and continuing to improve with the Lady Broncos success this season.
The regional rankings will be released every Wednesday through March 5. The following top 10 teams in the South Atlantic Region, with records through Sunday, February 3, were included in this week's regional rankings:
