Final Stats

Hampton, VA - The Lady Broncos Volleyball Team advances to the CIAA Championship Match for the second consecutive season with a 3-0 (25-12, 25-10, 25-18 ) sweep over Saint Augustine's College Saturday evening from the Boo Williams Sportsplex.

Fayetteville State will defend their title against the Elizabeth City State Lady Vikings; who earned their first ever appearance in the CIAA Volleyball Finals with a three set sweep of Bowie State University 25-10, 25-16, 25-14 in first semi-final match of the day.

The top seeds from the Eastern and Western Divisions will square off for the 2008 crown. ECSU went undefeated in the CIAA this season and will be led by 2008 CIAA Coach of the Year Linda Bell.

This match will feature the 2008 CIAA Player of the Year, Chekimbrell Jefferson and this season's Rookie of the Year, Chelsea Amick of ECSU. Their will be 14 all-conference student-athletes on the court between the two squads.

FSU will definitely be looking to extract some revenge on Elizabeth City State. Earlier this season, the Lady Vikings topped the Lady Broncos 3-1 at the conference volleyball roundup held in Felton J. Capel Arena.

The championship match is slated for 1:00 pm on Sunday, November 9th inside the Boo Williams Sportsplex.
