Congratulation goes out to Shayla Roberts, a senior, forward, on the Lady Broncos basketball team, on her selection as one of Georgia's 2007 "Peach of an Athlete." Her selection was made by the Atlanta Area Council Boy Scouts of America for her outstanding achievement in and out of the athletic arena where she exemplifies the qualities of a great "Role Model" for the youths in the community.

Roberts, an English literature major and a native of Swainsboro, Georgia, is a two-year starter with the Lady Broncos basketball team. Roberts will be recognized at the Atlanta Area Council's 24th Annual Awards Banquet on Thursday, April 26, 2007 at the Grand Ballroom of the Cobb Galleria Centre in Atlanta, Georgia.

To qualify for the honor, Roberts had to be a student-athlete of character and serve as a positive role model for youths, embody the principal of scouting which includes character, citizenship and personal fitness, be an athlete from Georgia or participating for a college or university in Georgia, excel in academics, and hold at least a 2.5 cumulative grade point average.
