LADY BRONCOS OUTMATCHED AGAINST KENTUCKY WESLEYAN

Highland Heights, KY - Kentucky Wesleyan College collected a 77-60 victory over the Fayetteville State University Lady Broncos in basketball action during the day two finale of the Travel America Classic on Tuesday afternoon.

The Panthers dominated this contest from the tip-off. Despite never having the lead, FSU remained in close contention during the first half. At the 4:53, senior forward Tenisha McArthur put in a lay-up to bring the Lady Broncos within three at 24-21. Fayetteville State was unable to cut the margin any smaller.

Kentucky Wesleyan went into halftime up 32-24. In the second half, Wesleyan only extended their advantage. A jumper by guard Chelsea Kilty with 16:10 to play brought the scoring margin to 11 in favor of the Panthers. KWC would maintain a double digit lead for the remainder of the game.

FSU was outscored in the paint 42-24, outscored in fast break opportunities 20-2, and out-rebounded 55-42.

Senior guard Leticia Dickson was the Lady Broncos' top scorer with 11 points. Junior guard Jamara McMillan contributed eight points, five rebounds, three assists, and three steals; McArthur also finished with eight points, along with four rebounds and four steals.

Fayetteville State falls to 5-3, having loss their last three contests (all road losses). The Lady Broncos return to action to take part in the Clayton College & State University Classic held in Morrow, GA December 29th and 30th. FSU will match-up against Lander College on the 29th at 3:30pm and the host Clayton College & State University on the 30th at 3:00pm.
