Spartanburg, SC - USC-Aiken defeated the Lady Broncos in three straight game 3-0 (30-14, 30-22, 30-19) as Jasmine Edney led the way for the Lady Pacers with 15 kills and five assists. She was joined by teammate Amanda Timm with 10 kills.
The Lady Pacers jumped on the Lady Broncos early en-route to their convincing win. FSU had the second game within reach, pulling within three at 16-13 following a Samantha Meeks kill. However, Amanda Timm ignited an 8-1 run to expand USC-Aiken's lead to 23-14, and eventually pull out a 30-22 win.
Fayetteville State University was led by Chekimbrell Jefferson (Laurel Hill, NC) with 12 kills and Heather Chance (Dallas, TX) with six kills. Senior libero Sha'Quana Veney (Richmond, VA) finished with a team-best 10 digs, while freshman setter Achari Mainor (Antioch, CA) tallied up 22 assists.
FSU falls to 14-10 overall with the loss. They return to action Wednesday, October 10th at 6:00 pm against Livingstone College in Capel Arena.
