Fayetteville, NC - The Lady Broncos topped Johnson C. Smith's Lady Golden Bulls 3-0 (30-13, 30-14, 30-24) in CIAA volleyball action at Capel Arena, Friday, October 12th.

Freshman Chekimbrell Jefferson (Laurel Hill, NC) earned her 300th kill of the season on her first attack in the initial game. She compiled 18 kills for the evening bringing her total for the season to 323 and she is 52 away from becoming Fayetteville State University's career leader in kills.

Also instrumental in the Lady Broncos seventh consecutive win in Capel Arena were Cassandra Peterson (Winston-Salem, NC) and Samantha Meeks (Laurinburg, NC) with seven kills apiece, Alexis Young (Fayetteville, NC) finishing with 10 digs, and Achari Mainor (Antioch, CA) with 23 assists.

The win upped FSU to 17-10 overall, 11-0 CIAA and 6-0 in the Western Division. The loss dropped JCSU to 6-16, 2-10 CIAA and 0-7 in divisional play.

The Lady Broncos return to action Wednesday, October 17th at Shaw University.
