Sophomore Chelsea Jeter had a double-double (18 points, 11 rebounds) to lead Fayetteville State University to an 81-65 win over Slippery Rock University in the United Electric Tip-Off Classic. Contributing to the Lady Broncos scoring in their season open win were Jamara McMillan, 13 points and Shayla Roberts with 12 points.

In the second day action of the tournament, the Lady Broncos forced Bellarmine University into 38 turnovers but could not capitalize as they fell 100-63. The loss dropped FSU to 1-1 for the season. Jamara McMillan led the Lady Broncos in scoring with 13 points while Bellarmine's Angela Smith lead all scorers with 18 points. Five Bellarmine's player contributed to win by scoring in double figures.

Name to the All-Tournament team were Fayetteville Stat's Chelsea Jeter and Jamara McMillan.
