Lady Broncos upset by UNC-Pembroke

The Fayetteville State Lady Broncos suffered a tough loss to the UNC-Pembroke Lady Braves, 72-62, in Capel Arena. The Lady Broncos jumped on the Lady Braves of UNC-Pembroke early to take a 20-12 lead engineered by a 7-4 run, but UNC-Pembroke battled back to take a 37-29 halftime lead.

In the second half, FSU scored early to cut the lead to 39-37. The Lady Braves stayed close but pushed away, extending their lead to 47-38 with 11:50 left in the contest. With FSU shooting 24 percent in the second half and Pembroke continued to pressure the ball and increased their lead.

Pacing Pembroke was Natasha Stotler and Ivy Ramsey both finished the game as the Lady Braves leading scorers with 15 points. The Lady Broncos were led by Rebecca Charles and Shayla Roberts both finishing the game with 12 and 11 points, respectively.

The loss brings the Lady Broncos' record to 4-2 overall, while UNC-Pembroke improves to 2-6 for the season.
