Janari Aiken, a sophomore from Middletown, New York, is a Business Administration major at Fayetteville State University. A 2021 graduate of Pine Bush High School, Aiken has consistently excelled in the classroom, having never been placed in anything less than honors or advanced-level courses throughout her academic journey.
While she did not compete in varsity sports during high school, Aiken has made her mark at FSU through her involvement and dedication to excellence. She is known for her vibrant personality and unique talents, including her spot-on impersonations of a baby’s cry and Donnie from The Wild Thornberries.
Aiken’s favorite pastimes include window shopping, drawing, watching YouTube videos, enjoying nature, and spending time with friends. Her most memorable sports moment was winning a championship and receiving her first ring — a moment made even more special by sharing it with her teammates.
She credits her father as the most influential person in her life, describing him as a family man full of wisdom and resilience who embodies the phrase “getting it how you live.” Aiken is also passionate about giving back, having participated in community service projects such as writing cards and creating care packages for children in need.
Though she’s still exploring her post-graduation path, Aiken is confident that whatever she pursues, it will be something big. As she puts it, “FSU chose me — and I am forever grateful.”
