Fayetteville State University Athletics

Thomas Cotten III joined the Fayetteville State’s women’s bowling staff as an assistant coach in 2015. He brings over 30 years of coaching experience at various levels and has been associated with the sport since the age of seven. 

A native of Newburgh, NY, Cotten relocated to North Carolina, after a career in the United States Marine Corps., and joined the United States Bowling Congress (USBC).  

He has bowled in numerous leagues around Fayetteville, NC, Shallotte, NC, and Little River, SC. 

At the age of 58 years young, he shot his first 800 (844) in February of 2019 and another 300.  

Cotten served as the youth director for the American Bowling Congress, which he has been a member of since the age of twelve, and the assistant youth director at the Lumberton Bowling Center.
