2025-26 Track and Field Roster
Biography
Senior high jumper Sheree Wright enters her final season at Fayetteville State as one of the most experienced and decorated athletes on the Broncos’ roster. A native of Manchester, Jamaica, Wright developed into an elite jumper early in her career, becoming a four-time ISSA Grace Kennedy Boys and Girls Championships finalist in the high jump while competing for Manchester High School—one of the island’s premier track programs. Her foundation in Jamaica’s highly competitive high-school athletics system shaped her technical strength and consistency in the event.
Before joining Fayetteville State, Wright competed at Saint Augustine’s University, where she earned multiple honors, including Athlete of the Week recognition and a 2023 CIAA Indoor bronze medal in the high jump. Her transition to FSU has allowed her to continue refining her craft while contributing veteran leadership to a young and growing jumps group.
Wright is majoring in Biotech and Molecular Biology, reflecting her passion for the sciences and her long-term goal of establishing a career in the scientific field. Known for her creativity and humor off the track, she describes herself as “a little flexible” and a bit of a comedian—qualities that keep her teammates relaxed during intense competition weeks. She enjoys watching shows, resting, and spending time with friends.
She credits her faith as the most influential force in her life, leaning on God for guidance in every path she takes. Her choice to join Fayetteville State was driven by the program’s strong culture and its commitment to winning—an environment she believed aligned perfectly with her competitive spirit.
As she enters her senior campaign, Wright looks to add to her medal count, mentor younger athletes, and help lead the Broncos’ women’s track and field team to new heights.
