Sanai Forte is a sprinter and jumper for Fayetteville State University who continues to emerge as a key contributor to the Broncos’ women’s track and field program. A Charlotte, North Carolina native, Forte graduated from Harding University High School in 2024, where she developed into a standout competitor at the state level.
During her high school career, Forte helped lead Harding to a North Carolina state championship in the 4x200-meter relay, placed second at the state meet, and recorded personal bests of 57.2 in the 400 meters and 18’3” in the long jump. She also competed in volleyball, further showcasing her athletic versatility.
Now competing for the Broncos, Forte specializes in the 400 meters and long jump, while also contributing to multiple relay units. As a freshman, she made an immediate impact during both the indoor and outdoor seasons, highlighted by helping Fayetteville State earn a CIAA championship and contributing to a third-place finish in the 4x400-meter relay at the CIAA Outdoor Championships. Her consistency and versatility have made her a reliable scorer across sprint, jump, and relay events.
Forte has already compiled strong collegiate personal bests, including 59.41 in the 400 meters, 26.00 in the 200 meters, and 5.36 meters (17’7”) in the long jump. Throughout the 2025 season, she delivered solid performances at major meets such as the CIAA Indoor and Outdoor Championships, Aggie Invitational, Trojan Relays, Vertklasse Meet, HBCU Showcase, and the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational, while contributing to relay squads that earned podium finishes, including a first-place 4x400 at the Trojan Relays and a second-place 4x200 at the Shamrock Invitational.
A Biology major, Forte approaches her academic and athletic pursuits with the same level of discipline and focus. She plans to become a veterinarian following graduation. Her father, Ricky Forte, is the most influential person in her life, serving as a constant role model and source of motivation through his leadership, support, and example.
Faith plays a central role in Forte’s life. In her free time, she enjoys reading her Bible and learning more about God, and she has also been involved in hosting Bible studies. She credits her faith for grounding her and guiding her through both challenges and successes. Forte’s most memorable sports moment came when she ran a 57.2 in the 400 meters, a milestone she attributes to dedication, discipline, and faith.
Forte chose Fayetteville State for its supportive community, commitment to academic success, and emphasis on personal growth, viewing the university as a place where she could thrive both as a student-athlete and as an individual.
As she continues her collegiate career, Forte remains focused on steady improvement and trusting the path ahead, stating simply that her future goals are, “Whatever God has planned for me.” With her work ethic, versatility, and continued development, Forte is poised to remain a significant presence for the Broncos in the CIAA.
