Biography

Freshman high jumper Kimora Chawlk begins her collegiate career at Fayetteville State University as one of the most decorated newcomers in the Broncos’ track and field program. Standing 5’6”, Chawlk arrives on campus from Salisbury, North Carolina, where she became one of Salisbury High School’s most accomplished jumpers.

A 2025 graduate of Salisbury High, Chawlk dominated the high jump scene throughout her prep career. She leaves holding the indoor high jump school record, while also tying the outdoor high jump record. Her consistency and competitive spirit earned her numerous honors, including Women’s Field Athlete of the Year, Most Valuable Player, Most Improved Player, and an impressive résumé of championships. She is a four-time conference champion and a regional champion, solidifying her reputation as one of the top high jumpers in North Carolina.

In addition to track and field, Chawlk was also a varsity cheerleader, showcasing her athletic versatility, explosive strength, and team-oriented mindset.

Now entering her first season with the Broncos as a Business major and NCAA freshman, Chawlk looks to make an immediate impact in Coach Turner's program. She chose Fayetteville State not only for the quality and affordability of its education, but also because of the support and developmental opportunities Coach Turner offers “not just as an athlete, but as a student and as a young lady.”

Beyond athletics, Chawlk has a strong commitment to service. She has been an active member of Crosby Scholars and Sheroes, two organizations dedicated to community engagement, youth support, and giving back to those in need. These experiences have shaped her leadership skills and her desire to serve others.

Chawlk’s biggest inspiration is her mother, Shanae Ellis, whom she describes as the strongest person she knows—someone who never gives up despite challenges and works tirelessly for her children. That example fuels Kimora’s ambition on and off the track.

Some of her favorite memories include cheering for her school’s 4x400 relay team during heated rivalry meets—moments that confirmed her love for competition and for uplifting her teammates.

Looking ahead, Chawlk plans to build a future as a successful real estate agent with aspirations of owning her own real estate company. With her discipline, drive, and championship pedigree, she is poised to grow into one of the Broncos’ standout performers in the high jump and a strong contributor to the program’s culture.
