Biography
Ashley Bell is a distance runner for Fayetteville State, contributing in both track & field and cross country. A native of Raeford, N.C., Bell prepped at Hoke County High School, where she also competed in cross country and earned a trip to the state championships during her prep career. She graduated from Hoke County in 2022.
Since joining the Broncos, Bell has developed into a versatile middle- to long-distance runner, posting collegiate personal bests across a wide range of events, from the 400 meters through the 3000 meters, as well as in cross country competition. Her top collegiate marks include a 2:17.02 in the 800 meters, a 4:59.84 in the 1500 meters, and an 11:39.24 in the 3000 meters. In cross country, she has recorded bests of 16:53.0 in the 4K, 20:09.0 in the 5K, and 24:18.5 in the 6K.
Bell is majoring in Sports Management and plans to pursue a career as a physical therapist in the U.S. Air Force after graduation. She chose Fayetteville State for its Air Force ROTC program, strong coaching staff, and academic offerings.
Off the track, Bell enjoys skating and crocheting in her free time. She cites her father, Dwight, as the most influential person in her life, noting his leadership, intelligence, and ability to bring people together as qualities she hopes to emulate. One of her most memorable athletic experiences was a team trip to New York.
