Biography
Adriana Quamina is a freshman thrower for Fayetteville State University, competing in the shot put and discus. A native of Las Lomas, Trinidad, Quamina brings international experience and a strong foundation to the Broncos’ women’s track and field program.
Quamina graduated from Northeastern College Trinidad in 2024, where she began developing her skills in the throwing events. One of her most memorable athletic experiences came as a member of her first CARIFTA Games team, where she earned her first regional medal while representing her country—an achievement that marked an important milestone in her athletic career.
Now competing at the collegiate level, Quamina is majoring in Pre-Biology and is focused on exploring her interests within the biological sciences. She hopes that her academic journey will help her identify a specific field of biological research to pursue following graduation.
Off the track, Quamina enjoys reading, drawing, listening to music, and learning new things. She also considers flexibility to be one of her hidden strengths, helping her balance athletic training with overall physical development. Family plays a central role in her motivation, and she cites her father as the most influential person in her life, crediting his sacrifices and support for making her opportunities possible.
Quamina chose Fayetteville State University for its commitment to providing a successful and supportive student-athlete experience, valuing the balance between academic excellence and athletic development offered by the program.
As she begins her collegiate career, Quamina looks to continue growing in the throwing events while building a strong academic foundation, aiming to represent both her university and her home country with pride.
