Biography
A dedicated student-athlete with aspirations of competing at the highest levels of the game, Jack Clayman brings a strong work ethic and passion for golf to the Fayetteville State men's golf program. The Cameron, North Carolina, native joined the Broncos with a desire to develop his game under one of the region's top collegiate golf coaches while pursuing degrees in Accounting and Criminal Justice.
Clayman enters his sophomore season after building a solid competitive foundation during his high school career at Western Harnett High School. He qualified for the North Carolina High School Athletic Association State Championship twice, earning trips to the state tournament in 2022 and 2025. Those experiences helped shape his competitive mindset and fueled his ambition to continue competing at the collegiate level.
Standing 6-foot-1 and weighing 175 pounds, Clayman is focused on continuous improvement both on and off the golf course. He credits his parents as the greatest influence on his athletic journey, recognizing the sacrifices they have made to provide opportunities for his success. Their example of dedication, perseverance and gratitude continues to motivate him in all aspects of life.
One of the primary reasons Clayman chose Fayetteville State was the opportunity to play for Head Coach Zane Lewis, whom he considers a mentor capable of helping elevate his game to the next level. He believes the Broncos' golf program provides the competitive environment and leadership necessary to reach his long-term goal of playing professional golf.
Away from competition, Clayman values faith, family and personal growth. His advice to younger athletes reflects that perspective: trust in the process, appreciate every opportunity, and remain grateful for each day.
As he continues his collegiate career, Clayman is committed to developing into a consistent contributor for the Broncos while pursuing his dream of competing on the professional golf tour.
