Rowny Kipchirchir is a redshirt freshman distance runner from Eldoret, Kenya, currently competing in cross country and track & field. A graduate of Kalyet Secondary School, where he was a regional champion in the steeplechase, Rowny transferred to FSU from the University of North Alabama to pursue a degree in Nursing. He chose FSU for its top-tier nursing program, strong support for student-athletes, and its identity as a Historically Black College and University (HBCU).

Rowny’s long-term goal is to specialize in marathon running, and he brings a strong work ethic and passion for endurance training to the team. His most memorable athletic experiences include long runs and fartlek workouts, which have shaped his competitive mindset. Off the track, he has a hidden talent for volleyball and credits his brother, Ezekiel Kisorio, as the most influential person in his life for his unwavering support and motivation.
