Jeptoo attended Santa Maria Girls High School, graduating in 2016, where she was a multi-sport athlete and a key contributor to her school’s handball program. Serving as a goalkeeper from her sophomore through senior seasons, she helped build and elevate the team, contributing to multiple victories, regional championship qualifications, and earning numerous individual and team awards for her performance and leadership.
She began her collegiate career at Middle Tennessee State University before transferring to Fayetteville State. Jeptoo is majoring in Nursing and has demonstrated excellence both academically and athletically. She was part of a class stream that earned the Freshman of the Year Award for outstanding combined performance in academics and sports.
Jeptoo chose Fayetteville State for its strong nursing program and the supportive environment it offers. She values the sense of encouragement, teamwork, and personal growth she has found at FSU, viewing the university as a place where she can develop both professionally and personally.
Family plays a central role in Jeptoo’s life. Her parents, Ruth Jemutai Kiptoo and Moses Kipyego, have been instrumental in her journey. She credits her father as the most influential person in her life, noting his belief in her potential, constant encouragement, and support through challenges as key motivators in her pursuit of success.
Outside of competition, Jeptoo enjoys gardening and plant care, as well as childhood games like tag and hide-and-seek. One of her most memorable sports experiences is representing her school in championship competitions, an honor that continues to motivate her collegiate career.
After graduation, Jeptoo aims to make a positive impact in her community, build strong professional networks, and grow both personally and professionally within the nursing field.
