Ian Kiprono is a redshirt freshman cross country runner from Eldoret, Kenya. Standing at 5’5” and weighing 106 lbs, Ian graduated from Chesamisi Boys High School in 2022 before transferring from El Paso Community College to continue his academic and athletic journey at FSU. He is currently pursuing a degree in Nursing, driven by a passion to serve humanity and a long-term goal of becoming a distance running coach. Ian was named FSU’s Top Cross Country Performer in 2024 and has competed in both the XC and Half Marathon Nationals in Virginia—experiences he considers the most memorable of his athletic career. Inspired by Coach Felix Hinojosa, who motivated him to excel in both academics and athletics, Ian continues to push himself competitively. Outside of training, he enjoys racing and participating in long-distance events. Ian chose FSU to cultivate his talent and achieve his career aspirations.
