Originally from Eldoret, Kenya, Serem graduated from Kiplombe High School in 2016, where he was honored as the top cross country athlete.

Beyond the track, Serem has demonstrated a deep commitment to community service, serving as a Community Health Volunteer (CHV) from 2017 to 2023 and participating in charity work in partnership with organizations based in Eldoret. He was also recognized as the “Best Discipline Student” during his collegiate journey.

Majoring in Nursing, Serem plans to combine his passion for healthcare with his athletic experience, having attended athletic camps and engaged in volunteer work. He credits author and neurosurgeon Ben Carson as the most influential figure in his life, inspired by Carson’s book Think Big, which shaped his personal and academic aspirations.

Serem enjoys swimming and has a hidden talent for singing. He chose Fayetteville State University for its outstanding nursing program and competitive cross country team, making it the ideal environment to pursue his goals.
