Linda "Linlin" Mosley is a senior member of the Fayetteville State University cheerleading program and a Fayetteville, North Carolina, native. A graduate of Pine Forest High School, Mosley has combined her passion for athletics, academics, and leadership throughout her collegiate career.
At Pine Forest, Mosley earned MVP honors with the 24K Gold Cheer Squad, showcasing the dedication and talent that she continues to bring to the Broncos cheerleading team. Her enthusiasm for cheerleading is fueled by her love of performance, particularly the dance aspect of routines, where she enjoys bringing team choreography to life.
A Biology major, Mosley plans to pursue a career in genetics as a molecular genetic technologist, with aspirations of eventually attending graduate school to become a genetic counselor. She also hopes to one day return to one of her alma maters as a cheerleading coach, combining her scientific interests with her passion for mentorship and athletics.
Mosley credits her cheer coach as her greatest athletic influence, noting that her coach continually encourages creativity while helping her refine and improve her ideas. Before competitions, she mentally prepares by visualizing each routine from beginning to end, rehearsing every motion and chant until she can perform with confidence and precision. The excitement of hearing the band and imagining the team's choreography motivates her before every performance.
Off the sidelines, Mosley enjoys playing the piano, horseback riding, volunteering, singing, and planning future goals and projects. Her commitment to leadership extends beyond cheerleading, as she serves as President of the Pre-Health Professional Society for the 2026-27 academic year after previously serving as the organization's secretary. She is also involved with the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and the Military Student Association.
Mosley chose Fayetteville State because of its lasting impact on her family and the opportunity to create her own legacy. She values the university's welcoming environment, strong culture, and commitment to helping students achieve their academic and personal goals. One of her most memorable athletic experiences was cheering on the CIAA basketball court in Baltimore, while one of her greatest challenges was continuing to compete and perform while grieving the loss of a loved one.
Through her experiences at Fayetteville State, Mosley has developed confidence, built meaningful relationships, and found a strong support network across campus. Her advice to younger athletes is to give their best effort in practice and competition alike, while remembering that success in the classroom is just as important as success in sports.
