Salisbury, NC — The Fayetteville State University women's cross country team delivered a strong performance at the Catawba Fleet Feet Invitational, held in Salisbury, NC, with freshman Faith Kiplimo leading the Broncos with a standout 4th-place finish in a competitive field of nearly 50 runners.
Kiplimo clocked in at 19:20.86, marking the fastest time for Fayetteville State and placing her among the top four overall finishers. Her debut performance showcased both talent and promise for the season ahead.
Senior Brenda Cheboi followed in 21st place, finishing in 21:33.78, while fellow senior Repline Cheptoo came in 25th with a time of 22:19.30. Junior Ashley Bell placed 27th, clocking 22:41.30, and senior Holley Johnson rounded out the scoring in 35th place with a time of 25:39.22. These performances reflect the Broncos' growing depth and competitive spirit as they continue to build momentum this season.
Among the top four overall finishers, Catawba dominated the leaderboard with Hannah Caudill (JR) taking first place in 18:30.73, followed by Natalie Almond (SR) in second with 18:56.17, and Madison Clay (SR) in third at 19:04.40. Fayetteville State's Faith Kiplimo claimed the fourth spot, marking a standout performance for the freshman.
The Broncos will return to action on Friday, September 12, at the Queen's City Invitational in Charlotte, NC. The meet will feature a competitive field and provide another opportunity for Fayetteville State to showcase its talent and progress.
