Fayetteville State Falls to Kutztown in Opening Round

Pittsburgh, PA – In a hard-fought match at the 2025 NCAA Bowling Pittsburgh Regional, the Fayetteville State women faced a tough opponent in Kutztown University. Despite a valiant effort, Fayetteville State fell 2-0 in the morning session on Wednesday, April 3.

  • CIAA Champions: The Broncos secured their third consecutive Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) championship with a perfect 4-0 record. This victory earned them a spot in the NCAA National Collegiate Bowling Championship.
  • Outstanding Players: Junior Ericka Reed was a standout performer, averaging 200.75 and earning the title of CIAA Bowler of the Year. She was also named to the All-Tournament team. Junior Paige Rockwell also had a stellar season, averaging 188.30 and receiving All-CIAA honors for the third year in a row.
  • Academic Excellence: The team excelled academically, winning the Bowling All-Academic Award with an impressive 3.623 GPA. Coach Bobby Henderson praised the team's dedication both on the lanes and in the classroom.
 
Despite their loss to Kutztown in the NCAA Bowling Championship Pittsburgh Regional, the Broncos demonstrated resilience and determination throughout the season. They will undoubtedly look to build on this year's successes in the future.
