BOWIE, Md. — Fayetteville State University dominated all three days of the CIAA Bowling Event III, winning all 11 matches against the CIAA Southern Division. The Broncos have now achieved an overall record of 53-12 and 42-2 against conference opponents. Junior
Paige Rockwell earned the Highest Average Award with an impressive 201.3 and freshman
Nicole Sarko earned the Newcomer High Average honor with a 183.1 average.
On the first day of competition in the Crofton Bowling Centre in Crofton, Md.,
Paige Rockwell led the team with an impressive average of 205.6 over five games, totaling 1,028 pins. She achieved scores of 215, 220, and 221 in three of her games.
Ericka Reed also shone, scoring 941 pins with an average of 188.2, including three games over 200 with scores of 214, 214, and 213. Other notable performances included
Katrina Lowe with a 177 average.
The Broncos defeated Shaw University twice, Johnson C. Smith University twice, and Livingstone College once, with scores of 632-591, 843-701, 944-782, 917-537, and 925-537, respectively. Fayetteville State's record stands at 5-0 after the first day of competition.
On the second day, Fayetteville State continued their winning streak, securing victories in all four matches.
Paige Rockwell once again led the team, averaging 196 over four games, with scores of 200 and 205.
Nicole Sarko also excelled, averaging 196.25 with scores of 213 and 222.
Ericka Reed maintained her strong performance, averaging 179.25.
Katrina Lowe contributed significantly with an average of 190, including a 200 game.
The Broncos defeated Livingstone College twice, Johnson C. Smith University, and Shaw University, with scores of 939-690, 835-554, 863-609, and 939-598, respectively. Fayetteville State's record now stands at 9-0 after two days of competition.
In the Baker Round on the third day, Fayetteville State continued their dominance, winning both matches. The team scored 899 in both rounds, defeating Shaw University with a score of 899-766 and Johnson C. Smith University with a score of 899-591. The Broncos' record improved to 11-0, maintaining their perfect streak in the competition.
