NORTH CHESTER, Va. – Fayetteville State University opened the 2025–26 bowling season with a dominant performance at CIAA Event I, hosted by Virginia State University in North Chester, Va. The Broncos finished the three-day event with a perfect 12-0 record—going 8-0 in traditional play and 4-0 in Baker matches—to secure the No. 1 spot in the CIAA standings.
Fayetteville State dominated the leaderboard with five players ranking in the top 10 scoring averages.
Hannah Cunningham earned
Newcomer High Average honors with 186, while also posting the event's
High Game of *
217 against Shaw on Day 2.
Paige Rockwell claimed
High Average for the Broncos at 183, highlighted by her 208 game against Johnson C. Smith on Day 1 and 202 against Shaw on Day 2. These performances underscore the depth and consistency of FSU's roster heading into the season.
The Broncos will travel to Baltimore, MD, to compete in the CSU Lady Eagles Invitational hosted by Coppin State on November 15-16
th.
