MIDLOTHIAN, VA — Fayetteville State opened its 2025–26 bowling season with a strong showing at the Virginia Union Invitational, finishing third overall in a competitive field across three days of play from October 31 to November 2.
The Broncos posted a 7–5 record during the event, earning wins over Virginia Union (twice), Florida A&M (three times), Virginia State, and Central Missouri. Fayetteville State's highest-scoring match came in an 875–625 win over Virginia State, showcasing the team's depth and consistency.

Paige Rockwell led the way for the Broncos and was named to the All-Tournament Team. Rockwell delivered one of the top individual performances of the weekend, rolling a 220 game during Saturday's team matches, helping Fayetteville State secure a narrow win over Florida A&M, 849–800. She finished with a team-high 867 total pins and a 173.4 average across five games.
