Fayetteville State University has secured the No. 1 seed for the 2024 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Bowling Championship. The tournament will take place at Lee-Hi Lanes located at 1830 Apperson Dr, Salem, VA 24153, from Saturday, March 23rd to Sunday, March 24th, 2024.

The opening ceremony will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday followed by bracket play at approximately 11:05 a.m. This championship, featuring the top eight (8) CIAA teams, is free and open to the public.

The defending champions, Fayetteville State University, have secured the No. 1 seed with their impressive record of 41-3 in CIAA and 52-13 overall. The Broncos also claimed the Southern Division Champion title with a perfect 32-0 record.

Paige Rockwell leads the CIAA with a 180.91 pin average over 35 games, followed by Erika Reed and
Denise Brown, who rank fifth and seventh, respectively.

The Northern Division champions, Bowie State University (43-5 in CIAA), will enter championship play as the No. 2 seed followed by No. 3 Virginia Union University, No. 4 Livingstone College, No. 5 Elizabeth City State University, No. 6 Johnson C. Smith University, No. 7 Shaw University, and No. 8 Virginia State University.

Last year's championship final was an epic battle between Fayetteville State and Bowie State, with Fayetteville State emerging victorious and securing their fourth conference title in school history.
