Raleigh, NC – The Fayetteville State bowling team continued to dominate the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association South as they finished the Divisional event with a 12-0 record in Raleigh, NC, January 26-28. Senior
Denise Brown, a public health major from Fayetteville, NC completed the weekend with the highest pin average of 174.44. Teammate,
Paige Rockwell, a sophomore biology major from Dayton, OH, had the highest score of 211 for the Southern Division.
Brown had a 209 score in the opening match against Livingstone, while Rockwell placed second with high scores of 211 and 201 in the fifth and ninth matches against Johnson C. Smith, respectively.
On the first day of competition, Fayetteville State swept Livingstone (800-667 and 748-620), Johnson C. Smith (766-618 and 822-661), and Shaw (773-658).
The second day of individual games was completed with the Broncos defeating Johnson C. Smith (764-686 and 765-624), Livingstone (816-625), and Shaw (812-637).
In Baker's play, FSU defeated Livingstone 751-737, Shaw 821-649, and Johnson C. Smith 879-618 for the 12-0 weekend record.
The Broncos will return to play in a few weeks when they compete in the CIAA N/S Event hosted by Virginia Union in Richmond, VA on February 23-25.
