Pinehurst, NC – Fayetteville State's
Caden Hodges (freshman, Dunn, NC) shot a four-over par (217) at the Southern Pines Golf Club to lead the Broncos to the WSSU Ram Shootout tournament title against eight other Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) opponents. FSU upended reigning CIAA Champs Livingstone by one stroke with a 909 scorecard (+57).

Hodges earned the Low Medalist award after moving up the leaderboard with a second-round card of 71 strokes and a third-round of 74. He was third behind his teammates
Zack Martin and
Brandon Jones. The two seniors from Sandford, NC had first-round performances of even par (71). Caden was one over with a 72. He had the second-best overall scorecard in the second round and tied Martin in the final round.
Zack Martin finished second in the tournament with a +6 (219) showing. Martin joined Hodges on the All-Tournament Team with their top-five finish.
Shawn Wixson (junior, Fayetteville, NC) ranked tied at fifth with a +15 (228) and
Brandon Jones' +16 (229) tied him at seventh.
Virginia Union finished third (912, +60) while Chowan followed fourth (939, +87).
Fayetteville State will face conference opponents again next week at the CIAA Southern Division Tournament in Charlotte, NC at the Charlotte Country Club. The event will be hosted by Johnson C. Smith University.
