BOWIE, MD – The Fayetteville State bowling team went 8-0 in the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Southern Division event held in Bowie, MD, November 10-12.
Paige Rockwell, a sophomore biology major from Dayton, OH, led the Broncos and all bowlers with the highest pin average of 183.67 and the highest pin with 224 over nine games.
Rockwell had a 224 score against Johnson C. Smith in game two and a 214 in game three against Shaw.
Ericka Reed placed eighth with high scores of 212 against Shaw in game three and 205 in game eight against Livingstone. Teammates
Katrina Lowe and
Lillian Mozzi also had noteworthy scores of 208 and 205 respectively.
Fayetteville State opened the three days of competition with a sweep of Johnson C. Smith (851-659 and 875-680) and Livingstone (789-663 and 788-691). The final score versus Shaw did not count due to the Bears only traveling three bowlers.
On the second day, the Broncos defeated J.C. Smith (822-648) and Livingstone (782-649) to complete the slate of individual games.
In Baker's play, FSU defeated Livingstone 784-575 and the JCSU Golden Bulls 800-623 for the 8-0 weekend record.
