Perry Hall, MD – Fayetteville State Bowling finished eighth overall in the Coppin State Lady Eagles Invitational over the weekend. The Broncos finished with a 3-4 record and 6,444 pin total over 40 games (161.1 average). Sophomore Paige Rockwell led the effort with a 175.6 pin average over five games and ranked 13th out of 79 bowlers. Denise Brown averaged 175.4 pins.
FSU opened the event with an 888-840 loss to Coppin State but rallied to finish the day with three victories. The first was a 781-687 win over Dominican (NY) and the second was an 839-817 victory over Belmont Abbey. Brown knocked down a 204 followed by a 186 by Rockwell. The Broncos defeated Saint Anselm 813-729.
In Baker System play, Fayetteville State dropped matches to Kutztown (776-821), Caldwell (765-800), and a tie breaker to Norfolk State (832-832; 69-74). The final match was a 4-2 loss (969-1028) to Howard.
Felician won the event with a 7-1 record followed by Belmont Abbey (5-3). Kutztown finished third (5-2).
