Fayetteville State Athletics to Offer Youth Camps for Summer 2022

Fayetteville, NC – The Fayetteville State University Department of Athletics to offer six summer youth camps for girls and boys attending middle school through high school. The Broncos are offering clinics for basketball, cheerleading, football, track and field, softball, and volleyball.
 
The objective of the camps is to provide qualified training in specific sports for boys and girls of various age groups. Attention will be placed on fundamental skills, strategy, conditioning, techniques, individual and team offense, and defense. Experienced instruction will greatly assist the individual(s) to improve his or her skill level while offering the opportunity for the development of maximum potential.
 
The 2022 CIAA Men's Basketball Champions will host the first camp of the summer for boys to learn and/or improve on their current knowledge and ability from June 1st – 3rd. The focus of the camp is to develop the fundamental knowledge and advance the skill level of each player. Players will work on shooting, dribbling, passing, defense, and how to take their skill set in those areas to the next level once mastered. Campers can pre-register at a discounted rate of $50 and $65 on the day of the event.
 
The famed championship track & field programs at Fayetteville State, which won four consecutive cross country, two indoor, and their first outdoor conference title, will provide middle and high school student-athletes a chance to improve their knowledge, skills, and attitudes along with building positive self-images from June 13-14. The cost to attend this camp is $100.
 
The 2019 CIAA Women's Basketball Champions will host a girls' camp similar to the boys from June 13-15. The three-day camp will also have a discounted pre-registration rate of $50. Campers who sign up the day of will have a rate of $65.
 
The Broncos' football program will host a youth camp for boys who are headed to the 9th through the 12th grade. The one-day camp on Thursday, June 16th will conclude with a campus tour at noon. Registration is $50. Cash will only be accepted on the day of the camp.
 
On the following day, the program will host a 7-on-7 high school tournament. Registration is $150 per team. This camp provides high school teams with the opportunity to prepare for the upcoming fall season, enhance teamwork, progress skill level, and improve their passing game through spirited 7-on-7 competitions. The Fayetteville State University football coaching staff will be on-site to interact and provide instruction for the teams. High Schools are allowed to bring multiple teams. There will be four (4) guaranteed games. The top four teams will compete in a playoff to determine a champion.
 
The department of athletics will partner with the Fayetteville/Cumberland County Parks & Recreation to host another girls' softball camp from July 11-15 at the Lamon Street Ballpark for ages 7-17. Registration will be available at all Recreation Centers at a fee of $30 per person.
 
The back-to-back CIAA Women's Volleyball Champions will offer young ladies the opportunity to learn, improve, and refine the fundamental skills of volleyball in a positive and fun atmosphere from July 13-15. The beginners/intermediate camp is open to ladies ages 9-18 at $90 per camper. The advanced camp is open to ladies ages 15-18 at a registration rate of $120.
 
The final camp of the summer will be hosted by the Broncos' cheerleading squad, also known as "Cheer Phi Smoov". The 21st annual "FSU Cheerleading Camp" will be on Saturday, July 23rd. The camp is open to ages four and up, including adults. Campers have the option to pre-register at $25 or register on the day of the camp at $35 (cash only).
 
The cheerleading camp will emphasize personal, confidence, coordination and body control, simple dance numbers, and basic stunt skills. Participants will enjoy lively music, spirited cheers, and fun performances. They also gain confidence as they learn to perform before an audience, including the closing performance for family and friends.  The registration deadline is Sunday, July 17.
