Salisbury, NC -- Fayetteville State closed out the CIAA Bowling Event II with an 11-1 record after three days of performances. The Broncos improve to 25-10 overall and 20-4 in conference play.
Angel Pope led the Broncos with a 178.75 average with eight games bowled.

FSU opened the first day of competition (Friday, January 28) with a four-match sweep of the CIAA Southern Division. Cheyenne Stanke dropped 200 pins in the 851-714 victory over Johnson C. Smith and 178 in the 755-683 win against Livingstone.Â
Angel Pope bowled a 210 against Shaw as Fayetteville State won 841-554. In the final match of the day and a rematch against JCSU, the Broncos pull off a close 890-850 victory. Pope rolled a 191 in the match.

Fayetteville State returned to the lanes the following day to pick up back-to-back wins against Shaw (769-678) and Livingstone (847-729). FSU was not so lucky in the third matchup against the Golden Bulls. Despite
Denise Brown rolling a 218, JCSU slipped by with a 923-921 victory. The Broncos rebounded in the final game with an 857-678 win over the LC Blue Bears. Brown was the team's second-best bowler with a 174.8 average over 8 games. She surpassed 200 for the second time with a 205 score against Livingstone.

Fayetteville State will travel to Richmond, VA for the CIAA cross-divisional roundup from February 11-13. The event will be hosted by Virginia Union University.
