Fayetteville, N.C. (B&B Bowling Lanes) –
Brittany Worthy led the Fayetteville State bowling team to a 12-0 sweep through the CIAA Southern Division with a 198.80 average in ten games at the CIAA Bowling Event III over the weekend at the B&B Bowling Lanes in Fayetteville, N.C. The Broncos have now completed their regular season schedule with a 51-0 conference record and 53-11 overall standing against NCAA (DI & DII) institutions.

The junior bowler from Durham, N.C. her first three games with 200+ pin counts on the first day of action. Worthy opened Friday's competition with a 201 in the BYE round and helped the Broncos defeat Saint Augustine's (903-636) with a 228 pin-count. Her 217 against Livingstone led to FSU's 885-581 win over the Blue Bears. She duplicated the same feat on the second day of bowling with a 202 count in the 943-660 win over Saint Augustine's. In the BYE game, Brittany dropped 206 pins and 202 pins in the 825-685 victory over Shaw.
Senior
Veronica Colon-Santiago (Hope Mills, N.C.) finished with the team's second-best average with a 189.0 in eight games bowled. Her best game was a 223 in the BYE round on the first day and she finished with two more 200+ games on the start of the second day of competition. Veronica dropped a 220 against the SAU Falcons and a 206 in the Broncos second BYE game.
Savannah Starling (Fayetteville, N.C.) finished two games with a pin count over 200. The junior bowler racked up 201 pins against Shaw on Friday and 221 against Livingstone to wrap up Saturday's competition. She completed nine games with a 181.44 pin average.
Cheyenne Stahnke (Lumberton, N.C.) had back-to-back 200 games in the first two rounds on Saturday. The freshman had a 215 and 205 and finished with a two-day average of 182.50 in eight games.
Freshman
Angel Pope (Hope Mills, N.C.) knocked down 221 pins in her last match on Saturday and finished the two-day individual scoring portion of the event with a 177.0 average.
Senior
Teeya McLean (Tacoma, Wash.) bowled seven games and had a 148.86 average.
Having defeated Johnson C. Smith, Livingstone, St. Augustine's, and Shaw during the first two days of competition, Fayetteville State continued its streak through Sunday's final round of Baker games for the flawless weekend and an unblemished conference schedule.
The Broncos will compete for its fourth CIAA Bowling title on the weekend of March 23
