Raleigh, NC -- Fayetteville State completes CIAA Bowling Event II weekend with a 12-0 mark to remain unblemished in conference play. Three Broncos collected awards prior to Baker Match play at the AMF Pleasant Valley Lanes.

Brittany Worthy (senior - Durham, NC) won the Southern Division Highest Average award with a 163.22 score. Freshman
Angel Pope (Hope Mills, NC) received the division's Newcomer Highest Average with a 178.80 while Junior
Savannah Starling (Fayetteville, NC) rolled a 211 for the South's Highest Scorer award.

Pope bowled all ten games and had the third highest average amongst the CIAA North and South.

Fayetteville State opened the first day (Friday, January 25t) of team matches with a sweep of its Southern Division opponents. The Broncos defeated Johnson C. Smith with its best score of the day, a 913 to the Golden Bulls 652. After a BYE round, FSU beat Shaw 909 to 535 and Livingstone 759 to 591. Fayetteville State ended the day with a 785-624 win over event host Saint Augustine's.

Savannah Starling opened the first day of play against Johnson C. Smith with the award winning 211. In the third game against Shaw, Starling pinned a 210, while Worthy rolled a 208.

In the second day of competition, the Broncos once again swept through the South with wins over the Falcons (768-594), the Blue Bears (775-571), the Bears (793-589), and the Golden Bulls (750-559).

Worthy had the best round of the day for the Broncos with a 207 in the BYE round.

Fayetteville State had a total of six 200+ rounds during the team match play.

The Broncos finished 4-0 on the final day of competition with a 159 average in Baker Match play. FSU had a total pin count of 3,948. Fayetteville State had an 892-662 victory over JCSU, a 764-572 toppled over Shaw, an 819-532 win over LC, and 741-558 score over SAU to close out the event.

Fayetteville State is now 20-0 in conference play and has a 26-11 overall record. The Broncos will compete against the CIAA Northern Division at the roundup event from February 8
th through the 10
th in Elizabeth City, NC.
