Laurel, Md. – The Fayetteville State women's bowling program returned from the CIAA Event I in Laurel, Maryland with a 12-0 clean sweep against all Southern Division opponents.
In team match play, the Broncos defeated Livingstone (863-558 and 786-580), Shaw (826-575 and 861-572), Johnson C. Smith (794-502 and 822-565), and Saint Augustine's (812-582 and 790-619). Fayetteville State had a two-day pin total of 8,144.
Savannah Starling had the third overall highest and best CIAA Southern Division average with a 173.67 in nine games. She bowled three games above 190 with the best roll of a 197 and had a total pin count of 1,563.
Brittany Worthy finished nine pins behind Starling and had a 172.67 average. Worthy hit the highest mark for a Broncos with a 198 in her fourth game. Freshman
Cheyenne Stahnke had the eighth best overall average with a 165.38 in eight games. Leslie
Paige Brayboy rounded out the top ten averages with 162.25.
The Broncos finished its Baker Match with a 4-0 record after defeating Livingstone (876-590), Shaw (833-586), Johnson C. Smith (888-613), and Saint Augustine's (731-670).
Fayetteville State will compete in the CIAA Event II from January 25
th through the 27
th. The event will be hosted by St. Augustine's in Raleigh, NC.
