Chesterfield, VA - The Fayetteville State University men's golf team ended play at the CIAA Northern Tournament in third place on Tuesday, March 24th at Lake Chesdin Country Club. The Broncos trimmed five strokes off their first day score of 329 to post a team score of 324 in the final round. FSU had a two-round total of 653, just four strokes from the tournament winners Chowan (649).

Chowan edged Livingstone College by a mere stroke (650) to earn their second CIAA sanctioned tournament victory of the season.

Junior Brandon Jobe (Fayetteville, NC) claimed individual medalist honors. He carded a 77 in the first round and 75 in the second round to finish in first place in the field of 43 golfers. Freshman Jared Chinn (Ft. Bragg, NC) finished in second place by just two strokes. He turned in a 77 in both rounds.

Junior Christopher Jackson (Raeford, NC) shot an 84 in the opening round and shaved off seven strokes with a 77 the second day of play for sixth place. Freshman Cameron Hughes (Charlotte, NC) posted a two-day score of 186 (91-95) for 28th overall.

Sophomore Corbin Rascoe (Windsor, NC) carded a 160 in the opening round and a 159 on Tuesday.

Elizabeth City State University shaved 16 strokes off of their first round team score to earn fourth place honors (660). Johnson C. Smith University finished in fifth place (699), followed by Virginia Union University in sixth place (769).

Virginia State University and Saint Augustine's rounded out the eight-team field and finished in seventh and eighth place, respectively. The Trojans turned in a two-day score of 814 while the Falcons combined for a two-round score of 1,101.
