Final Stats
Wingate, NC - Fayetteville State University sophomore James Bailey was the highest men's finisher Saturday afternoon at the Wingate University Cross Country Invitational.
Bailey led a group of five runners across the finish line in FSU's season-opening meet by finishing 76th overall in a time of 42 minutes, 15 seconds. The other finishers for the men were senior Rolland Gallop (87th, 44:16), sophomore Cortney Slaughter (101st, 51:30), sophomore Delaurance Rudd (104th, 53:17), and freshman Shawn Thompson (107th, 1:29:59).
Fayetteville State finished 12th overall with a team score of 344 (57 65 73 74 75).
Junior Ines Nieves crossed the finish line in 101st place with a time of 33:11.39. Sophomore Kezie Mwaniki was 117th in a time of 34:07.32. The Fayetteville cross-country team will travel to Greensboro, NC for the Old North Championships. The meet is scheduled to take place on Saturday, September 20th at 9:30 am.
