Fayetteville, NC - The Lady Broncos dominated the bowlers of the CIAA at the Annual CIAA East/West Bowling Roundup held at B & B Bowling Lanes October 19th through October 21st.
Fayetteville State University posted a 14-1 record, losing to Saint Paul's College Lady Tigers in the baker's match 971-852. The Lady Broncos had 14460 total pins for the three days, averaging 964 pins for the event.
Jessica Donnelly (Fayetteville, NC) finished the tournament with a 208 average, earning her the Western Division Most Valuable Player. Donnelly had four 200 matches (213, 232, 205, 238) and along with her fellow Fayetteville State University bowlers combined for 13 two hundred point matches.
At the 2007 CIAA Western Division Challenge, the Lady Broncos made Fayetteville State the first school in the CIAA to have a team bowl a score of 1000 or more. The team accomplished the feat for the second consecutive week at the roundup; including three 1000 plus baker's games in a row. The Lady Broncos' victory marks the first time in CIAA history a Western Division team has won the round up.
The first two days of the tournament saw the Lady Broncos post a 10-0 record. The Lady Broncos are now 44-1 for the season.
